La Salle Robotics Team 5181 wins the Chairman's Award, the most prestigious accolade any FIRST team can win.

The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.

This year, the submissions required for the Chairman's Award included an essay detailing how their program expands the mission of FIRST, an executive summaries document that provides judges an overview of their team, and finally, teams participated in a virtual interview session with FIRST judges.

FRC Team 5181, EXPLORER Robotics, is proud to have won the district-level Chairman's Award for the first time in program history. For the past eight years, Team 5181 and La Salle Robotics have continued to provide young adults and students with quality STEM and robotics experiences. We hope that our impact will inspire young people in our community to become leaders and innovators in a world growing more and more dependent on science and technology. Winning the Chairman's Award has been a journey requiring tremendous amounts of time and energy from the Team 5181 Chairman's Team, who have worked since January to compile and curate this year's submissions.
