FIRST® LEGO® League is a unique team-oriented robotics program for children and young adults from ages 4 to 16. Children have the opportunity to learn STEM and engineering fundamentals in a collaborative environment. From an after-school activity to a neighborhood pastime, FLL is the perfect way to introduce young people to robotics.
Participants gain real-world problem-solving experience through a guided, global robotics program, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. FIRST LEGO League’s three age-appropriate divisions inspire young people to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding, and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics. -FIRST
While preparing to compete against other teams, FLL participants gain confidence in communication, planning, and critical thinking. Most importantly, children gain an understanding of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) while applying their skills in a hands-on environment.
FLL is divided into three divisions to provide the best experience for varying age levels:
FLL Discover | Ages 4-6
FLL Explorer | Ages 6-10
FLL Challenge | Ages 9-16

This Year's FLL Themed Challenge
Every year, a new theme is released, providing participants with a fresh new challenge to tackle. The 2022-23 theme for FLL is SUPERPOWERED℠!
In the SUPERPOWERED℠ challenge, FIRST LEGO League teams will explore where energy comes from and how it is distributed, stored, and used – and then put their superpowered creativity to work to innovate for a better energy future. -FIRST®
