FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) teams are comprised of high school students tasked to design, build, program, and operate robots that compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.

The really cool thing about FIRST® Tech Challenge is...all skill levels are welcomed and needed, technical or non-technical. Student and adult team members are encouraged to bring any skills they already have, like coding, electronics, metalworking, graphic design, web creation, public speaking, videography, and more. -FIRST®

FTC teams design and build a robot using a reusable kit of parts and compete within a common set of game rules to play an exciting field game and complete the specific season challenge. The robot game changes every season and is always a blast!

This Year's FTC Game

The 2022-23 FTC game, FIRST® POWERPLAY℠, encourages students to reimagine the future of sustainable energy and power. Teams will test limits, balance energy, and maximize potential, power, and performance.
